Gordon Biersch offers eclectic American food with a twist. Our on-site chef creates unexpectedly good food, crafted to complement the nuanced flavors of our beer. Gordon Biersch beer is made with German precision brewing that meets American craft. We brew with the highest quality local and imported ingredients that are brewed on-site.
Started over a decade ago in Northern California, this chain now spans five states and continues to spread like wildfire. The beers are all brewed on the premises in the German lager style and they're all cold and refreshing. The food's good too, designed to complement the brew. Usually chock-full with younger patrons, this large hall also accommodates families. Whether you take your fraternity...

Try the delicious bread pudding. It is the best!!!!
While the food tastes good, there aren't many healthy options here. Most dishes including many of their "healthy" options are loaded with sodium and are still high in fat. This may be a great place for people not concerned with healthy eating.
Dependable fun place to go in Burbank. Good beer and tasty food
Gordon Biersh is a good restaurant but a great microbrewery. The food is definitely good enough for a party, special occasion, or working lunch, but the beer really shines. You can't miss the vats on the way in, so you can look at your beer's voyage to your glass. There is a large bar and an outside deck, but they are usually very full, particularly on Fridays, when the work crowd comes. Valet parking is around the corner on Angeleno and there are some spots for street parking, but they fill up quickly.
In Short
Airy, industrial decor lends a lighter, more urban feel to Gordon Biersch than most beer halls. The bar may get crowded after 5pm, when a happy-hour crowd hoists a few pints of...
I've been going here since they opened. Never had a bad meal. Unfortunately, the restaurant is closing September 10. 2023. From what I understand they brewery equipment needs extensive repair and the owners felt it was not economically feasible.
We actually liked it so much the first time, we came back a couple nights later.
The first night was a comedy showcase. Our server would bring us silverware, and then the busboy would come take it away. Then our server would walk by, look...confused, and bring us more silverware. This happened a couple of times until we laughingly resorted to putting our silverware in our laps or leaning over...
Nice restaurant with good service. The rib-eye steak was thinly cut with no favor. Very disappointed. Comes with two sides but they charge additional for almost everything. Side Caesar salad $7 extra. Fresh fruit $2 extra.
This place was chosen on our behalf as we we’re staying close by, because we were a large party they’d only offer us a set menu which was only three choices. I was disappointed because their actual main menu looked really nice.
Very boring restricting...choices, dry chicken which I realised after was meant to arrive with some sort of sauce.
Super bitter salad dressing and I’m not even sure...
We were told at the initial inquiry that as long as we meet the minimum $500 purchase, we should be good. However, today, we were forced to pay for the 2 guests who did not show up even though our bill was already beyond their...minimum amount required. Spoke to the manager/supervisor and the telemarketer and of course, they just reference the contract I signed. As you all know, do you...
My husband & I stopped in after a long drive and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The food was pretty good (fish & chips and the crab & shrimp mac & cheese). The service was very good. Teo did an awesome job.
I have been a regular here for years. It used to be my favorite place, but ever since they opened back up it's been horrible. The staff changed, there's all new faces and very...
Love the beer sampler and fish tacos! Also you cannot go wrong with garlic fries. Service has been friendly every time I've been there. So happy they're open for takeout now!
If you haven't been out to eat and you would like to get out, I would recommend Burbank. They transformed downtown into an outside dining area. Gorden Biersch has brought out their tables and you...
They are not just a restaurant they are an experience. The affordable beer tasting is amazing-- less than $10 for 5 kinds of beers and a cute paper map to write your impressions. The atmosphere is...
I really enjoyed the quality and the taste of the food, everything was cooked to perfection , the beer and the price!!!
Stayed recently in Burbank and we visited here several times. My husband enjoyed the beer samplers! Staff were always pleasant and informative. Food was very good. Great location too in downtown Burbank.
The fish tacos were flavorful and featured fresh chunks of cod that were marinated and grilled (not deep fried). Toppings were perfectly blended to balance the tasty nuances. Mushroom spaetzle was authentic and the rare sirloin perfectly prepared. Beer is great. Our friendly and attentive...server talked us into trying the apple bread pudding which was this bread pudding lover's delight.
We visited for dinner during the holidays. I like this chain but had a bad dinner this time. My salmon was raw in the middle, which does not appeal to me from a taste, temperature or safety standpoint. Our other three entrees were fine (sausage...board and Mac and cheese) and the garlic fries appetizer was good. The place was very busy but we were seated right away with a reservation.
Beautiful restaurant, great service and great food. The fish and chips are best I've ever eaten anywhere--get the garlic fries! The small sirloin w/mushroom sauce with red skin mashed and broccoli--delicious. Great for late nite snacks and drinks, also.
Gordon Biersch is one of the few bar/restaurants to put a lot of thought into beer and food pairings. Many restaurants put a lot of thought into wine pairing with their entrees, but G.B. focused on craft beer instead. If you love craft beer with...complementary appetizers and entrees, check out G.B.!
We had never noticed or been in this restaurant for dinner and when we spotted it decided to try it out. We ordered the pretzel appetizer which was massive. I tried the chicken schnitzel - which was a breaded chicken piccata with schnitzel. It didn't...give me the German food experience I am dying for (because it just doesn't exist in Los Angeles) but it was very good and a quite sizable...
What happened to Gordon Biersch... Used to love drinking their Marzen and Maibock and what not. Good foods with the delicious garlic fries. Of course that was many years back, and they seemed to...
Beer, pizza and a game on the big screen a great way to spend an evening after a big day out. Did I mention the beer?
There were several of us that met for drinks and dinner. The service was adequate but it took 3 times to get my bill correct. I had a couple of beers, the choice was not the greatest but the beer I selected was very good....The Ribeye steak was excellent but they put a little too much blue cheese or whatever on it.
Great food and great service!
As always, excellent food! ONLY complaint i have is that - we ordered a steak salad and it looked like a a side salad x2 - was not that big and not that filling to the point that we were still a LITTLE hungry/unsatisfied - should have ordered an appetizer. other than that - delicious - great service and def will come back - i have been coming here for MANY MANY years!
Fun spot for beer and a bite. Always nice to come back to Gordon Biersch.
It's loud there, but I usually enjoy it. Unfortunately, this time we went for my husband's birthday and I was told (by a waitress) they'd bring him a brownie and sing happy birthday after our meal ... but they never did. That was a disappointment. :(
Food was good not best, i like my Rib Eye steak to have shape of a ribeye steak this one didn’t looked more like a sirloin. Wife ordered sirloin and she got brewers steak well done she wanted hers medium. i ordered ribeye but it looked like a sirloin and mine was medium and i wanted it medium well! so that wasn’t right but we were happy to be out and eat our food and didn’t complain. another...
Food was delicious and the service was outstanding!
Our first time but definitely not our last, this place is awesome. Great creative foods and excellent service and very good beers.
Service was prompt and foods and beverages were tasty. Our bartender and wait staff were attentive.
Blanca was very attentive and a lot of fun! She was so friendly to my in-laws and just made my son's birthday a day to remember. We asked a lot of questions, but she was always patient and accommodating. It was an evening to remember. Thanks again, Blanca!
Mice beer selection and reasonably well crafted brews. Food ranged from very good (steak) to poor (bourbon glazed chicken. Service outside on the patio on a Tues evening was fine, nit crowded at all.
Always a great place to watch football as they turn up the sound on the TVs. Excellent beer selection with a happy hour for their own brews. Garlic fries are their signature item and amongst...
The ambience was warm and quaint. I love the spaciousness, openness and ample amount of tv's. We had the egg rolls and mushroom appetizers which were good. The server was cute, friendly and...

Came here for happy hour to try out their food. Ordered Tuna, Mussels, Beef Sliders, garlic fries and Individual French Dip. The portion sizes are on the smaller size but it's ok because the food...

This is a very nice spot on the main drag in Burbank. We sat outside in the shaded open air. It took a bit until the server noticed us, but after that things moved along well. The beer choices and sizes were nice. The garlic fries were as good as described. The seafood chop salad was very good and fresh and it was a meal. The grilled chicken salad was very good too. And we noticed they...
Great burgers.
Fantastic food. Their garlic fries are to die for.
Delicious brews and THE BEST blue cheese dressing that they make in house- enjoy it with the wedge and I also used it for dipping the Gorgonzola potatoes in
Good place for happy hour. My large group of friends and I never have a problem getting a big table on the patio for some after-work eating and drinking. They usually split our bills upon request (always a plus with large groups) and serve has always been good. The food is mediocre, but we mostly enjoy the beer.
bloody mary bar!
Heaven for the beer connoisseur. They brew their own beer! Yummy bites, big burgers, famous for their Garlic fries and lobster bisque !
Came here with my friends the other day and we all loved the service. Food was OK though but the service was great.
Wow talk about great food. I usally do not like beer but I must say their beer was the best I have had.

Oktoberfest!. We always try to avoid chains.... but we love Gordon Biersch this time of the year! Their seasonal menu and Festbier is amazing.
When I go out to eat, I expect to pay a lot for my meal. I also expect to get a lot of food for that money. I'm a bit of a foodie and only want the best. Well, this place did deliver a great meal that I really enjoyed, only the portion was so small that I left feeling hungry still. The price wasn't worth the meal. However, the ambiance is very nice.

Goat Cheese Ravioli & Wings. I love the Goat Cheese Ravioli! and we always get the Glazed Chicken Wings for appetizer -- it's an amazing flavor for a wingy
Fun place to go. It has an upscale atmosphere. Great selection of beer. Food is good but not great.
Upscale atmosphere for Beer – Fun place to go. It has an upscale atmosphere. Great selection of beer. Food is good but not great.
Gordon biersch best beer and burgers in town. Marzan burger and ribeye steak
I typically avoid chain restaurants, but GB is a solid restaurant. They have some pretty good options for both appetizers and dishes. Its a little loud and a little pricey, but its a decent place to grab dinner.
My favorite watering hole for happy hours with the co-workers. Excellent service, good beer and the relaxing ambiance of the outdoor section really help me unwind after a looooong week.
Good food and beer with decent service. The only thing I find negative is that it can get awfully crowded and loud.
Definitely a spot to get your beer on. They make it right there. I had the steak sandwich was pretty good. (ask for the steak frittes sauce rather than A-1). Will definitely return.
FOOD was like omfg is this really the food??
service was bad!
JUST OK – FOOD was like omfg is this really the food??
service was bad!
Great beer and food, too! Too bad on some nights the music is cranked up so loud it almost unbearable. We eat here unless we're driven out by it. When the waiter can't hear your order, it's a problem....
If you are a beer drinker, you have to go here. They sampler is always fun to start with, you can pick out for beverage for the night that way. The garlic fires are so good!
This place always seems so busy! Great teriyaki flat iron steak and delicious pizzas. I'm not much of a beer drinker, but its always fun to get the sampler!
Rating System 1 - 5. Food: 3
Visual flair and fusion fare distinguish this upscale beer hall from smaller microbreweries. – In ShortAiry, industrial decor lends a lighter, more urban feel to Gordon Biersch than most beer halls. The bar may get crowded after 5pm, when a happy-hour crowd hoists a few pints of seasonal Bavarian-influenced beers. A menu of fusion and New American dishes include beer-friendly offerings like shrimp and chicken pot stickers, Moroccan-spiced lamb chops and the signature garlic french fries.

We went with a grouop for a birthday and made a reservation. First of all, the table they seated us at was way too small. Then when two extra guests happened to show up they said there was nothing they could do to accommodate us. We had to split up into two different groups. Then, the large party next to us left--we had been promised that table--and they gave it away to someone else. THEN, when that party asked for more chairs and an extra table for their additional guests they were able to seat them but not us. We were there first and we had ordered a lot of food. So RUDE!
WILL NEVER GO...

Gordon Biersch has an eclectic group of beers. They also have some of the best Garlic Fries in town. I first learned of this place in Sacramento with a group of colleagues. We all enjoyed our food and some really enjoyed the beer.
This place is great to go hang out with friends or have a date! Great food, lots to choose from and great atmosphere. Service is good and you can always have a good meal there.
Gordon Biersch's Review: I ate at Gordon Biersch's four times. I like the ambiance over there. When I go there I mostly order either the Cheeseburger and I add bacon on it, or I order pizza . Most of the time when I eat...
GB is always a good stand by when we cant think of a place to eat. They have a good selection on the menu and great choices for the bar too. My girlfriends and I went the other night to catch up....it did take a few minutes for us to get service, but once we did it was good. I don't think there is anything on the menu I have had that wasn't good. We shared a couple of salads, the humus salad is always good, and we also got a chicken dish again, good....I don't think you can really go wrong, but it is what it is.

like it happy hour is the way: to go, its a nice place, the patio is great, i hope they ban smoking out there, but they do brew their own beer, and go for the happy hour
"Biersch" is German for "What a Great Place!": I go there at least once a month to just kick back and enjoy. The Marzen beer is dark with a hint of woodiness yet a sort of sweetness that rolls off the tongue.......

The Marzen Burger (sense a theme here?!) is a terrific excuse to sit and enjoy your beer along with a solidly thick meaty burger and garlic fries from heaven!
Best of all, the servers are all great - smiles and fun, no...
I ate at Gordon Biersch's two times. I like the ambiance over there. The first time I ate there, I ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger, and the second time I ate there, I ordered a Cheese Pizza. The both times I ate there, I always ordered Garlic Fries for the starter, and I mostly went there for the Garlic Fries. So you should order it for the starter.
food and service was awesome: our server was great. she never stopped asking us if there was anything more that we needed. the beer was sooo goood! i recomend to anyone looking for good food and beer. a bit pricy though....

Great Beer: The blond bock is to die for. It is most definitely the best in Burbank for both relaxed atmosphere and micro brew!

Business Class – The GB is a cookie-cutter establishment which mirrors so many others of its ilk. Don't get me wrong, GB serves good food and good drinks. The people are nice. The prices are higher than I like for what I get but well within expected ranges. I just don't think GB stands out in any significant way. What I want to note is service on the patio. Sit inside and the servers get right to you. Sit outside and you'll likely need to track someone down all night. I was there for four hours and was only approached once.

PERFECT! – Gordon Biersch is a great place to go for great food, beer and service. They have it all. The Sous Chef, Alejandro Acosta makes the most delicious bannana oreo cheescake and the ganache chocolate cake is a peice of heavan! It's a great place to hang out at night--they also have a great brunch on the weekends.

never again – How in the world can you go to a restaurant right when it opens and be told they are out of pizza? The pizza is what I go there for. Or used to. Then, after messing up numerous orders (we were a group of 12), we waited forever for dessert. I joked, "I wouldn't be surprised if they were out of dessert." We all laughed and waited some more. Needless to say, they were out of some of the dessert. This was supposed to be a special occasion but ruined thanks to them.

This is a great place, located in downtown Burbank. It has fine
food and a spacious interior. The service, as well, is good. Further,
it has ample parking in the back. One would expect that, given
its location-- which is not prominently featured-- It would
be emptier but this is not the case.
I've been there only at lunchtime and only for bisiness luncheons.
I was told that their menu changes...
I think that GB is a terrific place!! I have enjoyed going there frequently and I think that everything is great about it, especially the live music on the patio!

I have never had a bad experience with this place. As a mater of fact, it's a ""must"" take place when family & friends come to town. Great place to plan meetings! The food is fantistic & the service is great. If something is ever wrong, they are sure to take care of the issue right away.

This is one of the best restaurants in the East San Fernando Valley. Been there at least 8 times and have yet to find something to complain about. Good menu assortment and full drinks.

first of all, one word defines this restaurant, ""corporate"". great menu considering, friendly staff and great bar selection however still tastes a little sterile. has potential but the management needs to think a little more outside the box.

They have good creme Brulee, but the food is not all that. I was a little disappointed with the food, and was expecting a little bit more cause my friend recommended the place, and they Said ""YOU have to try that place""???

The food is about the same here but the ambience is not as nice as Pasadena. I've been here twice but don't think I'd be back. Service was slow and since they don't have that nice outdoor patio I feel that I'm sitting in a dark bar while waiting for my food.
