I like buffets generally. The food is normally decent and plentiful and usually they are clean. This restaurant was not quite up to the challenge of providing fresh food and a lot of the items were empty. Great food selection including quite a few healthy options, great value, especially if you want a nice big meal! The buffet has lots of different options, which is nice, but the food had absolutely no flavor at all and all of the staff looked like it was an inconvenience to be at work. We try to eat clean and healthy whenever we get a chance. Decided to give this place a try. We all felt sick that evening. Not from food positioning but just a weird unwell, "the food had a lot of salt and fat" kind of feeling. our bodies did not like it. We will not be back.
Good spread but not the tastiest buffet. Certain dishes though were very nice. Some dishes were not filled up often. The service though was very good and used plates were cleaned up very quickly. You need to be real hungry to enjoy a meal here...as there are plenty of options to choose from.

We always visit HTB in Burbank. There's a variety of food that you can choose from and most of them are delicious. Our kids love the crispy fried chicken & yummy Mac & cheese. We decided to come to Hometown Buffet at the Burbank location because of chains we've visited in the past. We came on a busy day so it was difficult to find parking. I have been disappointed here before, but since they offered a free birthday meal I tried it again. I was disappointed again with the very ordinary food. I'm not an all you can eat fan, but even if the object is to stuff yourself into...obesity, I think there should be one or two main dishes that stand out for uniqueness and flavor. There were NONE. I won't make the same mistake again.
If you know the various country buffet restaurant options, you know that it can be an adventure of noisy kids and 'buffet professionals' -- and sometimes the food is large volume, low quality. Truely terrible!. The food was generic and most of the items looked like them came from a carton or a can! I even saw one of their employees purchasing white bread at the 99Cent Only store. That tells you how fresh their food is.
