Bad Customer Service

We went to this restaurant 03/01/08 in Glendale Az - We had 2 glasses of ice water spill down our back and the manager would not come out to talk to us and did not cover our bill. I understand accidents happen but the way you handled the situation was rediculous. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Very good food and excellent service.

I can’t recommend this place enough. The food was sensationally fresh and delicious; our server, Gracie, was very sweet and very quick. All around a wonderful experience.

This is the second time that I have eaten here for a business dinner. Both times the server was VERY slow to get initial drink orders. Table very sticky not clean. Windows dirty. The food however is good and well presented. Nothing special about atmosphere. I feel that if that could step up the service to equal food I would raise my review level.

Solid flavors. Poor technique: all rolls fell apart easily. Delicious regardless. Good variety of Japanese food. Friendly n helpful staff.

This restaurant will always be busy, short on staff during the winter holidays, the wait staff tell lame jokes trying to impress because this is the Burbank locale for Kabuki. I have never been disappointed with the quality of the food here. You don't know how good the sushi is here until you move to a culturally dead city or out of state.

Bad Karma in your Kama. Man do I love Sushi! I've been a sushi lover since the 80's...oh dear, I'm dating myself. After finally flagging down someone to actually take our order, the server slapped down a bowl of edamame that smelled like old fish and was wilted, brown edged and warm like he dug it out of the dumpster! Although it might not have the best sushi, their food is quiet good. Instead of getting stuff from their main menu, try getting rolls from their sushi list. I can eat my fill of salmon, sea eel, and bean curd for less than $20! I've been to the Burbank location and the Old Town Pasadena location. Both places get pretty busy at night (especially Old Town Pasadena) so it's a good idea to make reservations, especially on the weekend. I like to go to the Burbank location for lunch--i'm seated immediately and get great service when i eat at the bar.

I tried this place twice and at 2 different locations... in Pasadena and Burbank. Both experiences were mediocre at its best. Went to the Burbank location early this year with my boyfriend on a Saturday night to celebrate my birthday... we were seated right away considering it was ""date night"" for half the population of Los Angeles. The food was, well, nothing to rave about really. I've definitely had better! I got my usual sushi order of yellowtail and eel... my guy ordered something with ""shrimp"" in it... NOT AT ALL MEMORABLE THAT'S FOR SURE. If you're just looking for something to...

KABUKI QUICKIE – I took a date on a Saturday night around 7:30...no reservation. We were seated within 5 mins. The place was crowded but not packed. Our service was excellent. Friendly and attentive. The food was very good and served quickly. I especially liked the BBQed beef. They have some terrific combinations so you can have some sushi with other dishes such as Gyoza or other cooked food. This is not Nobu. It's a great place for fast, fun sushi. I'm looking firward to trying other Kabuki locations.

One problem with this Kabuki location is that this area of Burbank is incredibly crowded, and consequently the restaurant is always packed. However if you are willing to sit at th sushi bar, you can be seated a bit faster.

Horrible Service – The service was horrible! You have to order 3 rolls to get the 50% off at dinner and so I did. The waiter proceeded to tell me that he did not believe that I could eat 3 rolls by myself therefore was not going to issue the 50 % discount. I had to argue with him about that. Once he brought our food, he watched me like a hawk to make sure no one else ate my rolls. I mean come on! He never brought my friends miso soup and ignored us most of the night leaving the bus boy to get our drinks. We sat finished for 30 minutes before we got our bill. It was pretty bad. I...

yummy to my tummy – the place was very crowded on a saturday night and expected. we were seated promptly only because there were only two of us. the service was ok. i got my water when i wanted and my edamame immediately. our sushi arrived pretty quick. the presentation was ok but the way they cut the rolls were sloppy. they were falling apart and the rice was not wrapped in the nori tightly. they still tasted good and thats all that mattered at that point. i figured it was going in my tummy anyway. every new rest. i try i always have the caterpillar roll (avacado and unagi-eel) to...

Kabuki is an o.k. is you are looking for mediocre sushi. Kabuki is always really busy and on weekend nights the line is out the door for this place.Sushi here is really inexpensive, However, the sushi here is frozen not fresh and you can tell by the taste. I have been given edamame here that was nearly frozen whereas ever other sushi bar in Burbank will steam them which makes it better. If you...

Half Off equals Half Quality, Half Size – This place is a real gimmick and not a real sushi bar. With cramped tables, impersonal waiting staff, and unimaginitive/very average quality sushi it is easy to see the real motives behind this restaurant chain. We ordered several different rolls and they all looked the same. The spicy tuna was not spicy at all, nor did it have very much tuna either (probably a lot of corn starch filler). The spider roll from the outside looked just like everything else and it was supposed to be a premium roll. You really have to wonder about a restaurant that...

We had a great experience at Kabuki Burbank. The wait staff was fsat and efficient and the sushi was tasty and well presented and prepared. Plus, the 1/2 off makes it very affordable to eat there. One thing about Kabuki though is that there is a considerable difference in the service and quality at different locations. Avoid Kabuki Hollywood like the plague!!!!

Pros

+ affordable, good sushi, efficient service

Let me start off by saying I'm a big Kabuki fan, having eaten there more than 20 times at both of the Pasadena locations. For my first time at the Burbank establishment, I won't be returning. We were estimated a 30 minute wait, and after 30 minutes, when I checked back in, I was rudely informed by the manager that it would be another 45 minutes. How can you mis-estimate that much? Once we were finally seated, our food arrived quickly, but it was cold, and once delivered, we never saw our waiter again until AFTER we requested our bill from someone else.

i love kabuki's 1/2 price sushi. you can order (safely) without thinking too much about whether or not you're going to overspend on sushi. for an average person, you can eat sushi till your heart's content for about $15-$20 dollars. it's a great place to take your significant other, to impress them and make sure that they're getting a good meal. it's always packed with customers.
