This place is alright, but it's way too expensive for the quality of sushi you get. The sticky rice on the rolls just fall apart. The tuna they use just isn't that good either. Hot tea here isn't complimentary, so be prepared to pay extra for that.
Small mini-mall Japanese restaurant serves teriyaki dishes, sushi, sashimi and specialty rolls to mostly neighborhood regulars.
Oh Sushi Dake, I have missed you! I hadn't been to Sushi Dake since pre-COVID quarantine, but after a number of unsatisfying sushi deliveries in my area, I finally decided enough was enough and to...
Thank you so much Sushi Dake for our take-out order. Thank you for rushing it as well. I know you guys were so busy. Ordered the Crunch Roll, Rainbow Roll, Spider Roll and took your recommended...
There are certain foods my wife and I can't make at home. Like sushi. And usually, we'd go out to a restaurant to enjoy said things. However, during this pandemic, that's not possible. So we turn...
My husband and I have loved this place for years. The employees always recognize us, the food is fresh & delicious, & the service is fast! During this pandemic, we've been craving sushi, and we...
We walked to Sushi Dake from our hotel and wasn't expecting much from the outside. But they didn't disappoint! Fresh fish, tasty dishes and reasonably priced. Good for families.

Probably my go-to spot in Burbank. The sushi is very good and very fresh. When I get a cirashi(?) bowl, sometimes the cut of fish is too thick, but here it isn't. The cirashi bowl is bomb! The...
Been a customer for 20 years. Never disappoints fast friendly service. Locals live it but being close to the studios they do plenty of take out. We always start with a Dodger Ball spicy tuna wrapped in avocado and our go to sashimi tuna and...yellow tail. Gets busy on Friday and Saturday nights we always sit at the bar. If your from out of town this will satisfy your sushi cravings.

Sushi Dake is a hidden gem. Easily missed as it is an inconspicuous restaurant but the food is wonderful. We visited last year and my whole family fell in love with it. When we had to unexpectedly cancel our vacation and rebook California we all...knew where we would be having dinner. We ate here twice and all meals were fabulous. And such a good price. If I had to pick a favourite it would be...
I've been a customer from the day they opened their doors. The chirashi bowl is the best. I only wish they served Omakase. All of the food is served fresh and in slightly larger than the normal serving sizes. Even though they are located in...an underwhelming strip mall, once you pass through the doors all doubts vanish.
Even though this place is a short distance from our home, we've passed on trying it for several years. Maybe it's the unappealing outward appearance. We finally gave it a shot. The yellowtail sashimi was't bad. The eel sushi and crunchy shrimp tempura roll didn't...excite and the cucumber salad lacked freshness. A little pricey for the selections. Don't think Sushi Dake can compete with...
This has been our go to sushi place for 8 years. The Dodger ball is a Must-try dish. They have a pretty good selections of specialty sushi rolls and if you cant find anything you like in the menu, all you have to do is...tell them your favorite fish and they will surprise you with a dish. Love the small mom and pop ambiance. The owner makes an effort to know your name , feels like "cheers -...

This is an easy spot to miss, as you drive by. It is certainly worth a stop. This is a small family run place that has very good food and a fun feeling, that makes you feel at home. I had the Chicken Teriyaki and...it was very good. It came with a great salad, truly wonderful dressing. My wife had the Combo Tempura and raved about it. The Niece and nephew had Sushi and really enjoyed it. Ice...

Nice place to eat sushi, not huge place if they are busy you will not find place to sit most likely. Their price is average. I like the chef how fast and good he is preparing sushi, rolls and sashimi. I think everything else is similar to any average sushi place.
Worse sushi restaurant I ever been too. If your not white ur pretty much not going to get good service.
The sushi tasted amazing! Definitely the most flavorful I've had. But my roll fell apart every time I picked up a piece. That was the only negative. Otherwise everything was very good!
A hidden gem! We were frequent patrons of Nippon on Riverside, but when it closed and reopened as Kobosu, we weren't so impressed and thought we'd never find a cozy sushi bar with welcoming proprietors until we went to Sushi Dake last night. The sushi was fresh and the lobster tempura roll was so good. …
This place is walkable from my house. I come here when I have a super crave for sushi. The employees are super nice. The place is avg. The food is pretty good but a little more pricy. I don't mind it if its good quick fix for me. I've tried a good number of their rolls. I usually go off the list of what I have not tried. …
Best service ever!! My Grandma always says that a clean, organized restroom is very indicative of how a kitchen is kept. From what I could tell, their sushi bar and kitchen is spotless and quite organized!
I walked in and the place was virtually empty. I sat at the bar thinking it might be all you can eat... I wanted to try short rolls of a couple different things. No luck. Not all you can eat, and didn't appear to be...any short rolls on the menu. I opted to get my food and go back to the hotel. I get to the hotel and the food looks delicious. I start to take a bite and the sushi falls...
I stopped by Sushi Dake for lunch today. It was my first visit. It’s a small place, in a shopping center. I ordered salmon, tuna and albacore sushi and a spicy tuna cut roll. The food and service were good. It’s not the kind of...place that’s going to “knock your socks off” but it was fine for lunch. The prices were within reason.
This is our neighborhood Go To spot for high quality fish and great service! They treat us like family EVERY time.
Absolute favorite Sushi place!!!
Everything here is good. I mean EVERYTHING. Best sushi I've ever had. Ever. Get a Dodger ball and consume it. Trust me. You won't regret it.
Salmon is amazing here, with a homey interior and kind service (they remember you if you've been there before!). The sushi rice is the only fault here- too crumbly and clumpy- but their fish was excellent, and fair prices. Happy to go back in a heartbeat.
The food is good - especially for Burbank - and the service is relly warm and friendly. It's just a little too expensive for what you get. The restaurant itself is a bit cramped and dark - unless it's the late afternoon and then the sun is beaming throu
Sushi Dake
Hidden gem in a small, very unassuming (read "classic" American) strip-mall in sun-baked Burbank. You'd struggle to spot this bolt-hole. As the name gives away this is a sushi bar. Very basic but very authentic.
There's all the usual aloof deference that goes...with a Sushi house run by a Japanese family. It can feel a tad alien (with all the banter in Japanese running in the...
Closed for business when we arrived. Went to Glendale for sushi. I hate to see them close after all the great reviews.
I live 3 blocks from here and for years never stopped in because there was an aquarium next door and it always made me laugh. When I finally did I was incredibly surprised that Burbank could be home to such and incredibly sushi restaurant. Fresh,...clean and a great place for sushi. The lobster roll is our favorite but there is this crab hand roll in soy paper that literally melts in your...
This place is awesome, the Sushi Chefs were friendly and said Hi to ever person that walked in the door, they have a little Sushi bar and a few tables, unbelievable cuts on everything, rolls are all unique and delicious, my boyfriend and I ordered...the Sashimi Plate B, which was the best Sashimi plate we have ever seen so beautifully decorated, then we ordered the spicy tuna and garlic, it was...
I had a business trip to southern california and stayed in the Burbank area. This area isn’t necessarily a mecca for awesome food (unless you’re talking about In-N-Out Burger!). Before meeting up with a friend to hike in Griffith Park, I stopped at a random sushi spot for a quick bite. Except when I got there, it wasn’t opened yet. What am I, a thousand years old, getting there for the early...
This place was great. Traditional hand towels, chopsticks and sake. Highly Recommended.
Love this place! 2 out of the 3 nights I was down here last year we ate here and another time this stay. Great sushi, creative rolls, good atmosphere and terrific service. Prices are good too. Can't wait to go back!
The quality and craftsmanship is top notch here. Prices are about average, but the service far exceeds other sushi joints. All and all a great place to go.
Unfortunately they do not roll the sushi cut rolls tightly enough and they completely fall apart when you pick them up with chop sticks :( And the sushi chefs were completely staring at us, just…
My favorite sushi bar in Burbank! We typically order the Dodger ball, the heart attack, and albacore. Love this tiny place!
One of my favorite gems in Burbank. Tasty tasty specials. A bit of a hole in the wall place hidden behind a McDonalds across from the CVS and oddly enough next to a pet store. Portions are just right…
Best Sushi place in Burbank. Sushi Dake is nice. Good place to go when taking a lunch in Burbank and you want to throw down some Sushi. I worked down the street and ate lunch here once a week or picked up food on the way home for about 5 years and never was disappoined. The sushi and sashimi are very good and very fresh always and the terriaki is also very tasty, the Salmon is one of my...
Great service from a woman who probably can't speak much English but smiles and nods graciously. Fish so fresh you don't need to chew it. Wonderful presentation that is clean and simple. Fun for a…
Delicious sushi.Good portions.Very clean.Staff were friendly but service a little slow. The best sushi I've had in Burbank so far.
Michael and Dianne, the owners, are so gracious and welcoming. They really make you feel like part of the family. They greet my husband and me by name, and sometimes even with a hug. The food is great! I love the spicy hand rolls. The service is exception
I don't think I would have noticed this place if it weren't for my coworker. We headed out to lunch for some sushi and my coworker is a regular here. The owners are quite nice and friendly, especially…
I love this place! The owners greet me by name and it is a great little spot hidden in a teeny strip mall. The Dodger Ball is amazing, and I can honestly say I have loved everything I have tried. They…
The sushi we had here was delicious and fairly priced! My girlfriend and I split the Dake special. This comes with teryaki of choice, 4 cali rolls, 5 sushi and 3 sashimi (both of which are sushi…
Sushi Dake is soooo good! Their dodger roll rocks. The place is small and get really packed at lunch, but it is worth the wait.
Fascinating creations by sushi chef - I had an Oishi Roll - mixture of crab, tuna, salmon, white fish and avocado,, wrapped with a cucumber. Oishi means delicious, and it was! Also saw a roll called "Love" with spicy tuna and some other fish, wrapped...with tuna on the outside. Beautiful. Very fresh fish, clean, with good service. Not fancy, in a strip mall, but a real find.
After living within a mile of this place for 5 years, we tried Sushi Dake for the 1st time on Saturday night and just loved it! Loved the atmosphere, the rolls were awesome and the owners made us feel at home. Try the Sashimi salad but its BIG and probably best to share with 3 or 4 people. Also loved the spicy albacore with garlic roll. Another killer Sushi joint hidden in strip mall. Don't wait 5 years to try this place!
Pros
+ Great Rolls

This is my favorite sushi bar in Burbank. It is a nice, casual, clean, brightly lit little place with friendly service and excellent fish.
They have some good rolls and some good standard Japanese food, but I come here for the good-sized portions of very-high quality fish. They don’t tend to have a huge selection, but they have all the standards as well as a few specials every day, and what...
Not inviting a friend to Sushi Dake with you can spell trouble.. The Sushi Dake is officially my favorite hole-in-the-wall sushi joint without hole-in-the-wall prices or quality. The staff is very friendly. The sushi chefs are a lot of fun. Try the sushi specials they post on the board and you'll be coming back for more Sushi Dake! But don't forget to invite your friends, or they'll be too...
Some great sushi for a very reasonable price. Service is great and the
owners are very caring and nice. I recommend the lobster roll and the
dake roll... just melts in your mouth, just awesome.

Pros
+ so yummy
Cons
- crowded alot on fridays and saturdays
Me and 2 co-workers went on a heist to find this place. It's located in beat down strip mall next to of all places, an aquarium store. My coworker ordered the Crunch roll, it's quite delish. I ordered the Salmon terkiyaki, about the same every where else.
Small mini-mall Japanese restaurant serves teriyaki dishes, sushi, sashimi and specialty rolls to mostly neighborhood regulars.
Sushi Dake is a friendly, cozy hole-in-the-wall restaurant that has amazing food. The sushi is soooo fresh; the rolls are incredibly yummy; the atmosphere and owners are delightful. Sushi Dake is a definite must! =)
We went there this past weekend, and while I've often heard that
sushi is not as fresh/good on the weekends, the sushi we got at Dake was
very poor. I ordered an assortment of nigiri-2 Tuna's, 2 Salmons,
snow crab, shrimp and an order of Toro. When I ordered the Toro sushi,
I was told it was $15 for 2 pieces- pretty pricey for a Burbank place.
I actually wondered later if it was the server...
This place stands out from all of the rest! I love the owners Michael
& Diana. They are like parents to me. Always so concerned about
how my dinner is. GREAT AS ALWAYS! The services is outstanding! I've
taken many friends there, and each one of them enjoys this great restaurant!

Fresh fish, friendly service, yummy sesame chicken, lovely atmosphere... what more can i say?
It is no Nozawa or Sasabune, but it is pretty good utilitarian sushi when you need a fix. Good prices, nice service, however it is stuck in kind of a junky strip mall.
Way too pricy: The fish was very fresh, but not at all what you expect in terms of prices. I ordered the lunch combo sashimi. It came with a bowl of miso soup and I ordered a hot tea. The tea was 2 dollars, but tasted a little...
We try to go to Dake at least once a week. You are made to feel very welcome, and the food and service are very good. We love many of the specialty rolls, but the nigiri is so fresh and wonderful it stands on its own. We really like the collars on the appetizer menu. This family-run (I assume) restaurant goes to great lengths to make you feel like family after awhile. They have shared their special sake, health secrets, and recommendations for pets with us. We recently went in to celebrate the purchase of our first home, they sensed our excitement - asked about it - and rewarded us...

Found Sushi Dake in the Yellow Pages, and decided to try it out
w/ my boyfriend. It's a friendly place, where the owners
are personable and concerned with making your experience a pleasant
one. There are pictures of customers all over the restaurant,
and the atmosphere is casual and friendly and fun. The food is
delicious - we tried sushi (fresh and yummy) and regular menu
items (salmon...

Sushi Dake is a great restaurant with great food, great people,
and a great ambiance. I'm almost hesitant to write this review
because I want to keep the delicious food all to myself. The food
is always fresh, and the owners and employees are very courteous.
Their menu consists of sushi and sashimi (obviously), but they
also have udon, teriyaki, salads, and tempura. Sushi Dake is

As neighborhood sushi joints in mini-malls go, this one is pretty darn excellent. Definitely not traditional, as the items of choice are the rolls - the more elaborate, the better. But still tasty, and rather cheap for what they're offering.
